Thirty years after leaving Command Secondary School, Ipaja, Lagos State, the class of 1987 have returned to the school that gave them a sound education to renovate classrooms, recognise teaching and non-teaching staff, and reminisce about their time at the school.

Having gone their different ways for many years, the Class of ’87 converged at the school premises to reunite with themselves and with some of the teachers that have impacted their lives.

Chairman, planning committee of the reunion anniversary, Sesan Obe, said it was worthwhile old students come together to give back to their alma mater. “This is why the 1987 set Commandos have taken it up to embark on significant projects in the school apart from thanking God for keeping us alive till date.”

Also, chairman of the 1987 set alumni association, John Owolabi, said: “It is a good feeling coming together after 30 years of separation to reunite and reminiscence on the lovely years we spent together at Command. Those were beautiful years that can never be replaced.”

While thanking the management for keeping the standard of the school high, Owolabi noted that the school still needs the support of old students. The old students promised to organise periodical mentorship programme for the students as a means of encouraging them as well as preparing them for the future.
