No voter apathy in Ekiti, says Nigeria’s Ambassador to Hungary
The Nigerian Ambassador to Hungary, Dr Eniola Ajayi, says there is no voter apathy in the ongoing Presidential and National Assembly elections in Ekiti State.
Ajayi said this on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at Polling Unit 018, Ward 10 in Iyin Ekiti of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, shortly after casting her vote.
She described the exercise as smooth and devoid of any form of rancour, adding that the electorate conducted themselves decently.
She also applauded the large turnout of the people despite the initial postponement of the exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“No voter apathy in Ekiti, as you can see, the people are excited and very encouraged to exercise their voting right.
“It is impressive and commendable that the people are conducting themselves in peaceful manners.
“Here in my Ward 10, Unit 018 located in Asao Compound, we are very orderly and I can attest to this because I just cast my vote,” she said.
NAN reports that the ambassador cast her vote at exactly 9.49 a.m.
