No vehicular movement on election day, IGP orders

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the restriction of vehicular movement from 6 am – 6 pm on Saturday, 16th February, 2019.

Adamu explained that this new improvement will help the security agencies in their electoral process and also prevent hoodlums from disrupting the electoral processes.

He pleaded with the citizens to come out in massive amount to vote and exercise their right without fear.

He also said that strong and tight security has been arranged to ensure the safety of those voting for a peaceful and credible election.

The IGP further sent a note of warning that the Force will deal severely with any individual(s) or group(s) that will to cause trouble in the election they vowed to make peaceful.

He, therefore, urged the citizens not to involve in vote buying, vote selling, hate speeches, circulating fake news, snatching of ballot boxes and other illegal act(s).

The IGP further stated the Force will not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law on any persons who engages in such activities.
