NNPC uncovers 144 hoarded petroleum products-Laden tankers in Kano
A joint taskforce, comprising security agencies and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) monitoring team set up to end petroleum products supply gaps in the country has uncovered 144 trucks that were not streamed by some marketers in Kano.
Spokesman of the NNPC, Ndu Ughamadu, said yesterday in Abuja that the products were meant to feed Kano and its environs. According to him, the resurfaced trucks had been sent to discharge their products at the designated locations, adding that 26 of the trucks were scheduled for Katsina, while 118 trucks were made to discharge products in Kano and its environs.
The corporation warned marketers across the country to desist from acts that could heighten supply gaps noticeable in parts of the country, saying security agencies have been detailed to go on the trail of any marketer hoarding products.
