The Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Baru, yesterday commissioned PNG Gas Limited’s 30mmscfd Egbaoma Gas Processing Plant at Ebedei, Ukwani council area of Delta State.

The $60 million facility, according to the chairman of Owel-Linkso and a director in PNG Gas Limited, Charles Osezua, is part of the national oil company’s mandate to improve the dwindling oil and gas revenue through the participation of indigenous businesses in gas production activities.

He said the plant was a testament of the nation’s engineering success.

Baru commended the shareholders for their initiatives as well as support for government’s flare-free vision and commercialisation programme.

The GMD noted that the project also fitted into government’s aspiration of using gas as an enabler for energy independence, industrial development, commerce and sustainability.

He disclosed that gas pipeline infrastructure network was being expanded, including the Obia-Obrikom to Oven (OB3).
