The Nigeria Labour Congress NLC has cautioned federal government on equitable management of looted fund recovered abroad, saying attempt to divert the said monies would be resisted by labour force.

NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, who spoke at the 11th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria in Kano, challenged the federal government to equally make it point of duty to account for all repatriated stolen monies.

Wabba, who restated the independence and integrity of labour in the scheme of governance, reminded policyholders that labour would continue to monitor the management of the country’s resource.

He drew corroboration between corruption and insecurity in Nigeria, pointing out that looted national fund by politicians and government officials should be used to create job opportunity.

Wabba, who decried fraudulent management of bailout funds released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), lamented the inability of some state governors to pay workers’ salaries even after receiving such funds.

He advocated an immediate resolution of joint account between states and local government, saying the arrangement has become a means of siphoning local government resources by state governments.
