NLC says past leaders lost focus on poverty, unemployment
THE President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, yesterday said past leaders of the country had lost focus on how to overcome the challenges of “poverty and unemployment” that caused various ethno-religious crisis and Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.
Wabba, who stated this yesterday while addressing workers at a grand reception ceremony organised by the Labour Movement in Borno State and the state government at the University of Maiduguri, ASUU Hall, said: “Failure to overcome these challenges will however continue to make all of us here in this hall and beyond to be lamenting instead of moving the country forward for a better place to live.”
He urged “social justice and equity” across the various segments of the nation for the country to have peace.
This, he said, would make the entire citizenry have a sense of
belonging and contribute their respective quotas in the rebuilding and reformation of the country.
