NIMC to give UTME/DE candidates special treatment
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has disclosed that it will give candidates for 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)/Direct Entry (DE) examinations special treatment in the enrolment and issuance of National Identification Number (NIN).
Director General of NIMC, Aliyu Aziz stated this yesterday at the commission’s Headquarters, Abuja pursuant to the collaboration between the commission and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The partnership, it explained was aimed at making the NIN a compulsory requirement for all applicants who wish to sit for the 2020 UTME/DE examinations, in line with the enforcement of the mandatory use of NIN as provided in the NIMC ACT 2007.
Aziz said the new policy forms part of the ongoing efforts aimed at curbing all unwholesome acts and infractions that have characterised UTME/DE applicants’ registration, examination, and admission over the years.
