NIMC targets 2020 for completion of data harmonisation
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is hoping to complete harmonisation of various disparate data in the country by 2020.
According to the Director-General of NIMC, Aliyu Aziz, the commission has already started working in this direction. He noted that the process would be faster, if all the agencies involved can operate as an ecosystem.
Data expected to be harmonised include the Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card registration being handled by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC); Bank Verification Number (BVN); Drivers Licence from the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC); voters card number among others.
