The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Tanko Mohammad, is among those that would be conferred with an honorary degree by Nile University of Nigeria at its 7th convocation ceremony today.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Osman Nuri Aras, who disclosed this at a press briefing on Thursday in Abuja, also said the chairman of Eleganza Group, Dr. Rasaq Akanni Okoya, would be honoured at the event.

He said the honourees were selected because of their achievements in their chosen fields.

Aras added that as part of the ceremony, there would be a lecture on “ICT as a Catalyst for Nigeria’s Economic Development in the 21st Century” yesterday.

He said the Minister of Communications, Dr. Isah Ali Pantami and the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, would deliver the lecture.

“This year’s convocation ceremony is a particularly special one since 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of Nile University of Nigeria.

So, the 7th Convocation ceremony will be a dual celebration of both the accomplishments of our students and our university’s success story,” he added.
