Yahya is new UNDP rep in Nigeria
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has appointed Mohammed Yahya as its new resident representative in Nigeria.
Yahya has officially commenced duties, following UN reforms that resulted in the separation of its activities from the resident coordination system.
The new appointee stated yesterday in Maiduguri, “The UN General Assembly agreed to reform the UN development system by making far-reaching changes in the way the UN system works.”
According to him, the reform was to help countries in their efforts to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
