Yoruba Council Of Youths Endorses Jonathan, PDP SW Candidates

THE National Leadership of the Yoruba Council of Youths (YCY), has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 Presidential election.

   Addressing newsmen, the president of the group, Barrister Dotun Hassan said in consonance with the recent communiqué of the Southern Leaders Forum and Dr. Frederick Fasheun’s endorsements, the association agreed at its national convention held in Lagos State on Sunday 18th January 2015, to officially endorse His Excellency. Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to return as the president.  

   “We equally endorse all other PDP candidates in the south west zone of the country in the coming elections.

   “Hence, we have authorised accordingly and mobilised all eligible voters, youths, women and elders in Yoruba land and our affiliated youths and student organisation allies in other regions of the country in this regard.”

   Aside from the endorsement, the group also honoured the president and his mother with the following titles; Apase of Yorubaland on President Jonathan and presented him with the Oranmiyan plaque, which they said was a symbol of authority.

They gave the title of Iyaniwura and Yeye Aremolekun of Yorubaland to Mrs. Eunice Jonathan.

  The awards were received by Chief Lemmy Wainidi and Dr. Donald Obaseki on behalf of the president and his mother respectively.
