THE Osun State governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Osogbo on Friday validated the re-election of Governor Rauf Aregbesola

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the August 9, 2014 had polled 394,684 votes to beat his Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP), Iyiola Omisore, who garnered 292,747 votes.

Dissatisfied with the outcome, the PDP candidate held for the tribunal in November last year  2014, asking it to declare him winner  of the poll.

Ruling on Friday, the Justice Elizabeth Ipejime-led panel concurred that the petitioner’s reply and hearing notice were filed out of time, noting that most of his evidence were unfounded.
