Pro-Jonathan campaigners in ghastly motor accident
ONE of the cars carrying delegates billed to attend a special strategy session of the Goodluck Voters Forum (GVF) in Asaba was involved in a ghastly motor accident.
The accident, which was a head on collision between the ML Mercedez Benz SUV carrying the GVF delegates and a Delta Line bus carrying about 12 passengers took place around the Ogwashiuku axis of Asaba –Ughelli road in Delta State at about 7.30pm. The two vehicles were heavily damaged.
The team was led by the National Co-ordinator of the GVF, Esanerovo Agbodo.
GVF is one of the foremost official campaign affiliates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign team working for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections.
Members of the delegation and some of the passengers of the Delta Line bus had been rushed by volunteers for medical treatment. Agbodo was however seen at St. Luke Hospital, Asaba being wheeled into the emergency unit for urgent treatment as he was groaning in pains.
According to one of the nurses at the emergency unit of St. Luke Hospital, who spoke un-officially to our reporter, “members of the team were responding to treatment but needed prayers.”
