Okorie kicks off presidential campaign in Imo

THE United Progressives Party (UPP) presidential candidate, Chief Chekwas Okorie, at the weekend kicked off his campaign in Owerri, Imo State capital with a promise to rebuild the country if elected. 

  Speaking at the event held along Owerri- Onitsha Road after a long road show in the state by the party members, Okorie promised to ensure that the declaration of assets by public officers is adhered to as against what he alleged is in practice currently.

  The UPP presidential candidate also promised to revamp the economy of the country, fight corruption, insecurity and ensure provision of basic amenities for Nigerians. He urged Nigerians to cast their votes for him and the Imo State governorship candidate, Dr. Usmond Imo Ukanacho, among others.

Okorie, who doubles as the national chairman of the party, presented flag to Ukanacho, introducing Prof. Protus Uzoma as the running mate to the governorship candidate.
