Jonathan Promises To Rehabilitate All Federal Roads In Nigeria

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has promised to rehabilitate all federal roads in the country, especially the Aba-Calabar road, if re-elected power next month.

Jonathan made this known yesterday in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, during the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) presidential campaign rally held at the state stadium.

The President, who promised to review the status of the Maritime Academy in Oron, also promised that the Ibaka Deep Seaport would become a reality if he were returned to power.

Jonathan, who called for a change in the positive direction, maintained that his administration believed that Nigeria must grow and move forward in positive direction.

He explained that his administration gave state governments the free hand to spend the states’ funds on the states, adding that all PDP states have a state-owned university.

Earlier, the wife of the President, Dame Patience, called on women to vote for he husband, whose administration, she assured, would give women 50 per cent of the appointive positions re-elected.

On his part, Akwa Ibom State Governor and Chairman PDP Governors’ Forum, Godswill Akpabio, said the state would give the president 1.67million votes in the election, maintaining that Nigeria would move forward if Jonathan returned to power in next month’s elections.
