THE Jigawa Government has donated Dutse General Hospital to the Federal University Dutse (FUD) for conversion to a teaching hospital.

Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim, the state Commissioner for Information, Youth Sports and Culture, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Thursday.

Ibrahim said the gesture was aimed at boosting healthcare delivery services in the state in particular and the nation in general.

However, he explained that FUD was expected to pay compensation to the state government.

The commissioner also disclosed that the former Government House, Dutse, had also been released to the teaching hospital to enhance its operations.

Gumel said that a 10-man committee was set up to work out modalities for the payment of the compensation to the state.

He said that the committee is being chaired by Alhaji Abdulhamid Isa, former Chief Medical Director, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano. (NAN)
