Iheanacho heads Imo State APGA Campaign Council

A FORMER Minister of Interior and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Imo State governorship standard bearer in the February polls, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho, has been appointed the leader of the campaign council of the party.

  According to a statement signed by the party’s state chairman, Peter Ezeobi, a lawyer, and made available to The Guardian at the weekend in Owerri, Iheanacho is to lead more than 20 others with a charge  to ensure that the party emerged victorious in all the 27 local councils of the state.

 The statement named Dr. Anthony Ihedoro, as the Secretary and  three serving members of the Imo State House of Assembly- Dan Ikpeazu, Victor Mere, and Victor Ndunagu. 

 Others are a former secretary of the Imo State Government, Nze Ignatius Ummunna, two former governorship aspirants in the state – Chief Ike Ibe and Dr. Jude Nzeako; immediate past Pro- Chancellor of the Imo State University, Owerri, Mazi Clement Owunna, a former Commander, Training and Doctrine Command of Nigeria Army, Maj.- Gen. Augustine Ogunedo (rtd.) a former member of the House of Representatives, ThankGod Ezeani and a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state, Mrs. Anne Dozie, a former  Comptroller –General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr. Cajetan Nnamdi; a former Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Emperor Iwuala, a lawyer; and a former Navy officer, Commodore Acholonu (rtd). 

There are also Dr. Peterson Nwokorie, Mr. Paschal Nneji, Dr. David Iwuagwu, Chief Chima Okoro, Mazi Okey Kanu, Mrs. Chinyere Ochieuka, among other members of the State Working Committee of the party.

  Responding, Iheanacho and his running mate, Chief Ike Ibe, promised to discharge their duties   creditably and enable every part of the state buy into  APGA, ensuring victory.
