I want to contribute in building a better Nigeria, says PDP Senate candidate
THE People Democratic Party PDP senatorial candidate for Ebonyi Central, Chief Obinna Ogba yesterday said he decided to contest the position because he wants to contribute in building a future and better Nigeria.
He said another reason for the need for effective representation of his people .
Chief Ogba, a former First Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and former state chairman of the party who spoke at a reception held for him at Nkalagu Ishielu by over 5000 supporters from Ikwo, Ezza North, Ezza South and Ishielu promised to attract government presence to the zone if elected.
The position is at present occupied by Igwe Nwagu who is now the running mate to Labour Party gubernatorial candidate Sir Edward Nkweagu.
Addressing the crowd , Ogba promised to give the zone effective representation , assuring that he will make case for the construction of Nkalagu-Ikem-Ehamufu road.
He lamented that Nigeria is at cross roads and those who should be sent to the Senate should be men of substance with requisite maturity and experience.
His words: “They must be people who will stand for the truth, who will lobby to get something for their people, because Nigeria is a country where you have to fight and struggle for your people.
If you don’t struggle for your people others will take your people’s share. And that is why I have accepted to go and represent all of you, and I think with your support and your prayers, I want to say that with humility and dedication, with the will of God ,I will not disappoint you all.”
