Group Drums Support For Ambode’s Candidature

A group of professionals and businessmen, Lagos Vanguard Group, has thrown its weight behind the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in the next governorship election coming up on February 28. 

  Launched on January 4, 2014, the convener and leader of the group, Prince Rotimi Martins explained that the group is concerned with electing the right person to lead the affairs of the Lagos State. 

  According to him, “The Lagos Vanguard Group (LVG) scrutinised all the candidates presented by various political parties, we have looked at their manifestoes to see how Lagosians will reap the dividends of democracy. Our conclusion is that Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has the most impressive, people-friendly agenda for the common people of Lagos State. We shall deploy all resources within our reach to ensure a landslide victory for Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode come Feb 2014.”

 He explained that the group has adopted a different approach in support of Ambode. “Our approach will be different. We have recruited hundreds of canvassers who will engage in door–to-door, street-to-street, market-storming and street carnivals to drum support for our candidate. You will begin to see our canvassers at Ojuwoye, Alaba, Idunmota, Tejuosho , Balogun markets and others.”
