El-Rufai pledges to reposition Kaduna, lists programmes
ALL Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidates, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has pledged to reposition Kaduna State onto the path of development and growth as thousands of his campaign train were received in the ancient city of Zaria.
El-Rufai, who was concluding his governorship campaign in Kaduna North Senatorial Zone, held a rally at the Eid Praying Ground, Zaria where he said that the significance of the crowd that ushered him proved that change is inevitable and a new dawn beckons for cogent development and purposeful leadership in the state.
El-Rufai, who was accompanied by APC leaders, argued that failed leadership and myriads of challenges in all parts of the state justify the move for change.
“I am emotional and touched because of the way and manner we were received, we were received with total acceptability, trust and confidence that we have all it takes to rebuild our dear state.”
The APC governorship flagbearer said, “Our state is in need of direction, focus and practical leadership that will bring about justice, development and purposeful leadership to manage our complexities. Kaduna State is in search of a competent and capable sailor and crew to sail our state out of the storm.”
Meanwhile, APC deputy governorship candidate Bala Bantex gave an insight into how he would partner with the former FCT minister to ensure the growth and progress of the state.
Speaking to reporters at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, he said the goal would be achieved by even distribution of developmental projects across the state.
Blaming the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the backwardness of the southern part of the state; he said such situation would not be the same if El-Rufai and himself are voted into power.
He said it was unfortunate that due to poor representation over the years, there were no tangible developmental project on ground in the Southern Kaduna axis in spite the fact that local councils in the area got over N100 billion from the federation account.
Bantex, who had served at various times as member of the House of Representatives and a two term council chairman disclosed that plans are afoot to conduct a round table discussion with stakeholders aimed at setting a legislative agenda to actualise the goal of taking Kaduna to the next level of development.
