GOVERNOR Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has called on the people of the state to be wary of the antics of those he called agents of destabilization bent on bringing back the era of thuggery, violence and brigandage to the state.

 He made the call while addressing a congregation of ministers of God at the Advanced Ministers’ Seminar organized by Christ Life Church, Old Ife Road in the state capital.

 Governor Ajimobi, who affirmed that his administration had successfully brought peace and tranquility to the state, urged the people not to allow politicians with the antecedent of violence to disrupt the pervading peace in the state.

  He reminded the people of their traumatic experience before the advent of his administration when a lot of lives and property were lost to the political violence that enveloped the state then.

The governor said that his administration had been able to put violence in check because of its resolve not to give political thugs and troublemakers a chance in the state.

  He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the sustenance of peace and tranquility, urban renewal programme, as well as provision of social infrastructure, urging the people of the state to vote for continued peace.

  The essence of government is to provide social amenities and to ensure peace and security. We want to gladden the heart of those whose rights had been trampled upon; that is the objective and purpose of our government,’’ he said.
