Rotary Club of Ikeja Central donates to clinic

ROTARY-19-1-15--THE Rotary Club of Ikeja Central, District 9110 has donated refrigerator and generating set to a health centre in Alade Market, Ikeja, Lagos.

The materials were presented by the District Governor of Rotary Club, Mr. Dele Balogun, who commended the Ikeja Central Rotary Club for its fast growth and service to humanity within its environment.

The President, Mr. Dayo Akerele, said the exercise was one of the key action plans among the club’s programmes.

He noted that the donation was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the less- privileged in the society.

He said the club was excited to commission and hand-over the project to the management of the clinic.

“We are fulfilled as we come here to commission this project. The project is called Maternal Child Health. We gave the clinic refrigerator to prevent contamination of blood. It does not have the equipment so that is why we provided them with the refrigerator and a generating set. We are also sinking boreholes. We are giving small loans to market women in Alade and we are supporting primary school pupils and many more.”

The president added that the club was also embarking on school beautification projects in this Rotary year.

The Assistant Governor, Mr. Eboigbe Etiosa said the project was meant to store some of the vaccines and health equipment at the clinic.

“The donation is in line with Rotary vision in the area of health. The generating set donated would help power the refrigerator due to the epileptic power supply. The refrigerator would help cool some of the polio vaccines and other materials. The Ikeja Central Rotary Club has come a long way and we are glad at their pace of growth. I believe that with time, it would embark on mega projects,” he said.

The clinic management commended Rotary Club for what they called ‘a surprise gift’ and urged them to keep up with their good works of impacting the society.
