NSCDC arrests suspect for allegedly impregnating 14-year-old girl in Jigawa
The Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Sunday said it had arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly impregnating a minor.
The State Commandant of the corps, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the suspect, a resident of Kanti Quarters in Katoge village, was arrested in Kazaure Local Government Area.
” The Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 32-year-old man for raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl in Kazaure Local Government Area,” Gidado said.
He said that the matter was reported by the mother of the victim to the men of the corps operating in the area.
The commandant said when the suspect was invited and interrogated, he confessed to having canal knowledge of the girl many times.
“The suspect admitted having sexual intercourse with the little girl countless number of times,” said the commandant.
According to him, a clinical test conducted showed that the victim was carrying a four-month-old pregnancy.
Gidado said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
