Nigeria to produce agric machinery soon, says minister
Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has said that Nigeria would soon begin the production of machinery for planting, harvesting and processing of agricultural produce.
Onu disclosed this at the weekend when he visited the Agricultural Machinery and Development Institute (AMEDI) in Mbutu, Aboh Mbaise Council of Imo State.
He said the institute, when commissioned, would design and produce agricultural machinery.
According to a statement signed yesterday by the head, public relations in the ministry, AbdulGaniyu Aminu, the institute was established to ensure food security in the country.
