Senator Shehu Sani has cautioned the electorate against re-electing President Muhammadu Buhari in the upcoming polls.

He said any re-election for the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government and Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State would put Nigeria in a gloomy future.

Sani, representing Kaduna Central zone, is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

Addressing his supporters, the Igbo Youths’ Peace and Unity Initiative in Kaduna, he said: “Nigeria and Kaduna State are currently sick and need people who will rescue them from the evil that the ruling party has caused the nation.”

Sani said he was encouraged by the spirit and faith of the Igbo youths in supporting his re-election as a senator.

“We must not deceive ourselves, but tell the truth, which is that the nation is sick, and the state too is sick. Nigerians expected a better deal than what we are having today.

“People who begged you three and half years ago to vote for them have turned themselves into demi gods. They are now oppressing the poor, retrenching them, marginalising and unleashing evil against the poor,” he said.

He expressed disappointment that poverty has ravaged the lives of Nigerians in the last three and half years.

He added: “We have seen the killings, the level of bloodshed and violence, and we have also seen the division and the hopelessness. We have seen how a state governor has sent thousands of people out of their work.

“How on earth do we give another opportunity to a man who has no human face, who has no human heart? They want to occupy the seat of Shehu Sani to continue to continue to enslave you, but we are moving out of Egypt. Those people in power in Kaduna State represent the wall of Jericho that has to be pulled down.”

The senator urged his supporters to re-elect him and sustain the politics of principle, courage, bravery and value.

“You should not elect people who will go and do the bidding of their godfathers. But, elect people who will do the bidding of the poor, the down trodden, the traders, the artisan, the mechanic, civil servants and the beggars in the street,” he added.
