While declaring the seminar open, the minister of justice and attorney general of the Federation, Alhaji Abubakar Malami, SAN said that the seminar would consider the laws on gender based violence and also fashion out modalities to tackle the increasing cases of violence against women and children in Nigeria.
On the massive deployment of military to Abia state, the minister told journalists that the federal government would not compromise its constitutional responsibility of maintaining peace and the unity of the country.
