Nigeria must embrace righteousness, says Adefarasin
The founder of House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has called on religious leaders to leave their cubicle to contribute their quota to the growth and development of the country, particularly in this period of economic recession.
The cleric, while addressing journalists yesterday on the 11 edition of the yearly programme, The Experience, titled, ‘Revealing Jesus,’ which plays host to several international and local gospel singers, said the church needed to be introspective on why the country is in economic recession.
He said although there is a global recession now, it is, however, pertinent for the church to collaborate with our political leaders on how to protect the interest of the Nigerian masses at critical period.
Adefarasin also urged the country to embrace the principles of righteousness, as stated in the Bible, “righteousness exalts a nation,” adding: “The righteousness the Bible talks about is not a preserve of Christian, but the one that upholds the principle of fairness, justice and equity.
“The truth is that Nigeria is one of the countries with a large numbers of Christians, yet lagging behind socially, economically and politically, compared with other nations that are not really as religious as we are.
