‘Nigeria has 27m active Facebook users’
Out of the 67 million active Facebook users in Africa, Nigeria has 27 million with 14 million being daily active subscribers.
Facebook’s Head of Platform Partnerships for Middle East & Africa, Emeka Afigbo, disclosed this yesterday at the 2018 TechCrunch Startup Battlefield Africa summit.
He said the social media platform is out to develop the technology ecosystem of the region through various partnerships and developers programmes.
Afigbo, who said Africa is very strategic to Facebook, noted that the Nigerian market has shown depth in terms of technology adoption through various strategic development initiatives.
He revealed that so many people have leveraged the social media platform to build their careers from entertainment to technology.
