A group in the Niger Delta, Youth Initiative for Education, Development and Empowerment has warned the elite in the region to desist from sabotaging development of the region because of personal interests.

They threatened to oppose any attempt to subvert the development of the region over selfish interests that do not take them into consideration.

President of the group, Agbonkpolor Splendor, at a briefing in Abuja, expressed support for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), in the development of the region, urging the commission not to be deterred in carrying out their mandate.

“Those detractors who are attempting to subvert the gains of change in the region should desist from setting the region back. Leaders of the region should cooperate with the current management for the progress of the region, rather than throwing spanner in the works.
