New Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi, has vowed to turn up the heat against Boko Haram terrorists in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.

Adeniyi stated this at the weekend while taking over as the eighth commander of the military outfit during a brief ceremony at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State.

Noting that several senior military officers had fought the terrorists in Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad region, he promised to up the ante.

He expressed happiness taking over from Maj.-Gen. Benson Akinroluyo, whom he deputised at the theatre.

The former commander, he said, groomed him obliviously knowing that he would take over from him one day.

Adeniyi, therefore, thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, for appointing him as the new commander of the theatre.

On his part, Akinroluyo said he was delighted to hand over to his former deputy.
