New commander for operation Lafiya Dole
THE Nigerian Army has appointed a new Commander for Operation Lafiya Dole. He is Major General Yusha’u Mahmood Abubakar.
Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, in a statement last night, said it would be the first time the Nigerian Army in its history would be deploying Corps Headquarters in the field. “The appointment is with immediate effect,” he said.
Until this appointment, he was the Commander of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, a unified command coordinating 3 and 7 Divisions of the Nigerian Army as well as other elements of the Operation Lafiya Dole.
