The new Oba of Benin Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, Edaiken N’ Uselu will be crowned on October 20.

At a press briefing in Benin City, the Enogie of Evbuobanosa/Abudu and Chairman, Coronation Planning Committee, Prof. Gregory Akenzua said the Edaiken N’ Uselu would depart Uselu palace on October 8.

Akenzua said the change of date was sequel to the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the rescheduled gubernatorial election in the state, which was earlier planned for September 10.

He said all burial ceremonies in the state were prohibited throughout the period of the coronation process.

“The coronation ceremony, which was earlier scheduled for September 26, has now been shifted to October 20, 2016. As a result of this change, His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, Edaiken N’ Uselu will now depart finally from Uselu Palace for Eko-Ohae on October 8,”Akenzua added.
