• Urges State Coordinators To Desist From Recycling Trainees
The National Directorate of Employment (NDE)has concluded plans to recruit no fewer than 23,220 trainees nationwide.

The Director General, Dr. Nasiru Ladan Mohammed Argungu, who made this known in Jalingo, Taraba State, through the State Coordinator, Alhaji Aderemi Adebisi, said 30 trainees would be recruited from each local council of the state.

The NDE boss said the training would take place in all 774 local councils in the country.

He also said the exercise, which began under the Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS), would go a long way to address unemployment in the country.

He said that at the end of the training, graduate trainees would be fully proficient to compete favorably in the business world, adding that NDE would engage the services of proficient and well-established trainers for the programme.

Argungu said NDE state offices would choose skills that would last for three months and recruit 30 persons per local council.

He warned state coordinators to desist from “recycling trainees for the same training,” as anyone found flouting the directive would face severe consequences.”

He urged all would-be-trainees to take the exercise seriously.
