NDDC, NGO train physically challenged persons in Bayelsa

Potters Heritage Foundation (PHF) has trained and empowered over 30 physically challenged persons with skills acquisition in Bayelsa State.

Potters Heritage Foundation (PHF) has trained and empowered over 30 physically challenged persons with skills acquisition in Bayelsa State. The beneficiaries were trained on bead making, shoe making, photography, GSM repairs, makeup, confectionary and wig making.

Speaking at the closing ceremony in Yenagoa, the training facilitator, Mrs. Akeghayifa Diffa said the training was to empower people living with disabilities with skills to earn a living.

She said each participant would get starter packs from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), sponsor of the training, to begin their businesses.

Chairman, Association of Persons with Disabilities in the Niger Delta, Sokari Aspila, said the training was an eye opener, as it afforded them opportunity to learn new skills.
