THE Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Port Harcourt branch, has called on all to respect the right of others, even the downtrodden, in this season of Christmas and beyond.

The NBA in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Angus Chukwuka, also charged the judiciary to be sacrosanct, impartial and independent to enable it defends the rights of the people without influence.

Part of the statement reads: “As we celebrate Christmas, all and sundry must recognise and respect people’s rights, both during and beyond the season.

“Drinking and driving, dangerous driving, street or public fights, smoking in public places, and throwing knock outs on neighbors and passers-by among others are vices that must be avoided in the interest of peace, order and good governance”.
