Navy promotes 87 officers
Morale of Nigerian security forces, no doubt, has received some boost, as the federal government seems to have directed its encouragement searchlight at them.
Few days after the police promoted over 200 officers, the Nigerian Navy Board has approved the promotion of 87 senior officers to the ranks of rear admiral, commodore, captain and commander.
Among the newly promoted officers are 10 rear admirals, 25 commodores, 24 captains and 28 commanders.
The promoted admirals include the commandant, Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology, Kachia, Commodore D.M. Dogonyaro; the director of Policy, Naval Headquarters, T.A. Imam; the director of Recruitment, Resettlement and Reserve, Naval Headquarters, R.O. Mohammed; the director of Personnel Release, Naval Headquarters, I.B. Yusuf; and the director of Navigation/Positioning and Timing, Defence Space Administration, W.O. Kayoda.
Others are the commander of NNS Beecroft, O.E. Eyo; the directing Staff of NDC, S.O. Agada; Commodore, Naval Drafting, E.E. Aneke; Directing Staff of NDC, M.M. Bashir; and the Deputy Commandant, Naval War College, Nigeria, A.O. Ayobanjo.
Those promoted to rank of commodore are T. Sani, M.N. Madugu, O.O. Fadeyi, A.A. Gaya, S. Dahun, O.A. Oludude, S.D. Atakpa, A. Baba-Inna, P.E. Effah, A.A. Mustapha, C.D. Okehie, I. Okpala, O.B.F. Oladipo, O.O. Soyemi and E.A. Zipele.
Others are A.K. Ezenma, C. Onyemaobi, S.A. Yahaya, S.H. Abdullahi, K.M. Bushi, S.A. Ejaro, G. Obaje, A.E. Bello, I.D. Nurudeen and I.A. Ahmed.
They will be decorated at a later date.
