Navy hands over three suspected oil thieves to EFCC
The Forward Operating Base (FORMOSO) of the Nigerian Navy located in Brass Local Council of Bayelsa State has handed over three suspected oil thieves, Kehinde Babade, Agbo Emmanuel and Uchechukwu, to the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigation and prosecution.
Also in custody of the anti-graft agency are a tugboat and a barge laden with 600,000 litres of diesel worth N150 million and believed to be illegally refined.
The suspects were crewmembers of the ship seized for alleged oil bunkering and refining.
Handing over the suspects and the vessel named ‘Ebizarh’, the Commander of FOB Formoso, Captain Ibrahim Suleiman, said the Navy was poised to rid the region of illicit activities.
