National Assembly not rubber stamp, says Ubah
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (Anambra South) has assured Nigerians of the National Assembly’s independence. The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil disclosed this yesterday at the harvest thanksgiving of the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral (AVMCC), Anglican Communion, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State.
He said the Senate was performing beyond expectations, as it had achieved some feats that could not be achieved before now.“I believe in God’s existence and in giving back to God through harvest programmes like this because he is the giver of life,” he said.
Speaking on the performance of the Senate, Ubah said the red chamber could not be described as a rubber stamp because “it has been able to bring out the N1.5 billion that has always been there and nobody ever touched.
“That was the first and the fastest bill in the Senate so far, and the bill is going to give Nigeria N1.5 billion every year. So how can that come from rubber stamp senators? The Senate is working so hard to serve Nigerians and make the country great.”
