NANS Backs Wada’s Second Term Bid
THE Joint Campus Committee (JCC) of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has thrown its weight behind the second term bid of Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State based on his giant strides in the education sub-sector.
The development followed the assessment tour of facilities of all the state owned tertiary institutions carried out by the JCC.
Addressing a press conference on the out come of the committee’s appraisal visit in Lokoja yesterday, the NANS president, Tijani Usman said that the comprehensive stock taking of the achievements of Wada since he came on board in the education sub-sector has been very eventful and commendable.
According to him, “The Committee having toured round the state owned tertiary institutions and a thorough oversight of their facilities, we are satisfied with the infrastructural and welfare development that had taken place at the Kogi State University, Anyigba, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa and the State College of Education Technical at Kabba”
Usman lauded the governor for the establishment of College of Medicine and the on-going construction of the Kogi State University Teaching Hospital as well as construction of hostels and extension of Faculty of Law.
The NANS president further applauded Wada for the prompt payment of bursary allowance of students of Kogi State origin in higher institutions across the country.
He also appreciated the governor for the donation of two Toyota Hiace buses to the National Association of Kogi Students and NANS.
He, therefore, declared the support of the Nigerian students tor the election bid of Capt. Idris Wada for a second term in office.
