The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), yesterday, warned state pilgrims welfare boards to refrain from diverting pilgrims’ funds to cater for government-sponsored pilgrims.

The commission also denied leaving behind any state pilgrims that paid for 2018 hajj exercise in Nigeria.

The Guardian gathered that some pilgrims, particularly those from tour agencies, might not be able to make it, due to closure of Saudi borders.

Speaking at pre-Arafah media briefing in Mecca, Executive Chairman of the commission, Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammad regretted the situation, where states use monies meant to cater for pilgrims to fund state-sponsored pilgrims.
