Motorists suggest palliative measures as LASG partially closes Pen Cinema railway crossing

Following Lagos State Government’s announced partial restriction of movement for motorists in Agege axis to accelerate the ongoing construction of the Pen Cinema flyover, starting January 4, residents and motorists have suggested that more effort and effective traffic control should be concentrated on the Iyana-Ipaja bus terminus on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
  
According to a motorist, Abayomi Oguntuase, the Iyana-Ipaja bus terminus has always been a problem to motorists using that corridor. “The yellow buses are causing problems and gridlock on the corridor. LASTMA should deploy its officials and resources massively to make that corridor fluid as regards vehicular movements,” he said.

According to him, the restriction of movement is expected to last for an estimated period of between three and six months, saying that this will enable the contractor take full advantage of the weather and space to deliver seamlessly the critical aspect of the flyover construction that falls within the Pen Cinema roundabout and railway crossing at Old Lagos-Abeokuta Road junction.
