MNJTF kills seven Boko Haram, ISWAP commanders

Troops of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have neutralised several Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) commanders and terrorists through ground and aerial bombardments at Tumbus
in the Lake Chad region.

Before they met their waterloo, the terrorists were reportedly controlling fighters in the Tumbus area of Lake Chad Basin, comprising Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

Army spokesman, Col. Sagir Musa, stated yesterday in Maiduguri, “Reliable information coming out from the inner circles of the criminal groups’ enclave escaping to Sudan and Central African Republic indicates that about seven commanders of Boko Haram and ISWAP have been neutralised by MNJTF troops.”

He named the victims as Abba Mainok, Bukar Dunokaube, Abu Kololo, Abor Kime (said to be an Arab and ISIS trainer), Mann Chari, Dawoud Abdoulaye (Malian) and Abu Hamza.

“All these were said to be commanders of various Tumbus controlling fighters before they were decisively dealt with by the military bombardments,” he said. “Although these names may not be real and may likely be nicknames, it is an unprecedented feat in our quest to clear the remnants of these criminals in the area.

“Efforts are ongoing to get more information on their true identities.”

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, had through the Theatre Commander, Multinational Joint Task Force and Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi, commended the troops for their professionalism and enjoined them to do more.
