Minister urges SMEs to back government policies on economic growth
The Minister of State, Trade and Investment, Aisha Abubakar has urged Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) operators to support policies employed by the government towards economic growth.
Abubakar gave the charge in Abuja yesterday at the opening of the Christmas Trade Fair 2016 at Wuye Ultra Modern Market with the theme “Promoting Made in Nigeria Goods.”
She explained that the fair was intended to promote SMEs and encourage more investors in the sector for economic development.
According to her, despite the country’s challenges, her population represents a huge market with vast potentials that cannot be ignored, adding that government institutions were being strengthened to make doing business in the country easier.
The Chairman of the organising committee of the fair, Mr. Wenegieme Joe said the Wuye ultra modern market was among the four Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) project of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to provide social services and boost economic activities in Abuja.
