Minister urges Nigeria to prepare for post crude oil era
The Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, wants Nigeria to begin preparing for the post crude oil era by paying adequate attention to science, technology and innovation, as Europe and the industrialised world are shifting attention from fossil fuel.
Onu, who spoke at the first science and technology innovation sensitisation forum and open house in Abuja yesterday, said that the country should take a cue from the fluctuating oil prices and employ science and technology fully rather than be faced with the reality of producing oil for countries that may not need it in the near future.
Nigeria does not have an option but to tow this line.
