Minister invites ASUU for emergency meeting
Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, has invited the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to an emergency meeting following a threat to embark on another round of strike.
In a statement by Director, Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong, the parley, which holds today by 11:00a.m. at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, is to nip in the bud the proposed industrial action.
The university teachers had issued a fresh strike notice over what they described as the refusal of the Federal Government to implement some of the agreements struck by both parties.
ASUU called off its nine-month-old strike in January this year.
