Ejike-Mbaka

CATHOLIC faithful wept freely yesterday, as its fiery priest and founder of the Enugu Adoration Ministry, Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka, moved to his new parish at Emene, a suburb of the state capital.

Thousands of the church members, who thronged the Christ the King Parish (CKP), GRA, Enugu shed tears as trucks, buses and cars lined up to convey the belongings of the priest and the Adoration Ministry out of the premises. But Fr. Mbaka, who managed to control his emotions, as he looked through the wailing crowd had while describing his transfer as the will of God, said he was convinced the leadership of the church approved it to make him suffer.

He said those who plotted his transfer want him to suffer, as they did not consider his security and where he would put his head.

Reviewing how much he had contributed to building the CKP parish from 1997 when he was posted there without any structure till now, he stated that he had been transferred to a location where there was not enough provision to enable him continue his ministry.

He said: “I know I am going there to suffer within now and few months. I am going to suffer because I have no place to put my head.  I am going to suffer because I have no place to keep the ministry’s assets. I know I am going to suffer and fortunately it is going to happen in the month of lent. Although, I have accepted it as the will of God, it is a mega suffering. All these while, we have been keeping the vineyard and building the Christ the King Parish. All the money I got from my cassettes and crusades were spent on the church, the school and parsonage.

Decrying what he described as attempt by some persons to politicise the church, by feeding the Bishop with falsehood, he noted: “I am giving
God the glory and I welcome the church’s choice and action with absolute acceptance and obedience.

So, there is no negation to what God has approved and what the church suggested. Nobody should see me as a
recalcitrant priest. I am not. I have taken an oath of obedience and I stand on it,” he said.

Eeya! The Lord will build His church

As a priest, imbibe the attitude of Jesus Christ who never had a permanent place to lay his head throughout his ministry here on earth.

    • Author’s gravatar

Such a lame talk….if u had been living in a three bedroom flat and youbwere ssked to move from there to a single room…does that not make it uncomfortable that most of tour asset will be in the open…

Can we just reason well before we talk..he is not an evangelist without a ministry…
Maybe you should google the ministry next time before writing…

      • Author’s gravatar

you do not know what you are ranting mr. lame talk and stop talking grass, William did not say anything lame you sound lame, is Mbaka not a follower of Christ why wont he imitate Christ humility?, is he born with his ministry or when he dies would he leave with his ministry? You need to understand what catholicism is before you open your month next time, Mbaka is a priest under catholic authority, any ministry he sets must be approved by the catholic church and it is not his private business, he is not a protestant priest therefore he must respect orders simple.

      • Author’s gravatar

@Meeday…..you are the one who is reasoning via your anus….If you are a Christian……you will understand that what Williams said is the truth…..as for Mbaka….i don’t know if his works for Jesus is approved by Christ(many of their practices not Biblical)…..only Jesus Christ can say on the day of reckoning…..

      • Author’s gravatar

Mbaka is behaving as if he’s superior to his Catholic Church which gave him the platform in the first place to become whatever he claims to be today. As a catholic priest, he’s not suppose to stay more than 2 years in any Parish. He should be on the move like his fellow priests. Any properties he has acquired does not belong to him including his proceeds from cassette sales…
He’s suppose to spend it on the poor. He’s lamenting as if having spent them in CKP is a loss. He’s a charity worker and so he feeds on charity. Let him continue his charity work in his new place in Emene…and in time he will be comfortable again. That’s the vocation he signed for, needless complaining. Before he retires, he’s suppose to have moved at least 20 times, so why is he complaining now?? Even the Bishops move, so why is he complaining or is there anything he’s not saying ??

        • Author’s gravatar

@Edward: let me ask u one question. Why was he or has he not been transferred every two years all these years? Answer without prejudice n u will understand the main point in the matter. I disagree when u said he is behaving as if he is greater than the church. Cos he said he accept with obedience and humility. Or is it because of his fearless speeches? That man remains man of God. For me, it should not be at this time coz now am convinced beyond every reasonable argument that his transfer is poluticized

          • Author’s gravatar

@Shanky, pls read properly before commenting….
Mbaka complained and accepted….that’s the wrong thing there. Why will he complain?? A catholic preist complaining of his transfer?? Let the truth be told…he went too far. Why is he complaining? Bishops get transferred and there’s no issue, and Mbaka is transferred he starts pointing accusing fingers. That’s very poor of him. Mbaka is indirectly indicting his Bishop who is responsible for whatever transfers that will take place in any parish. Infact, he’s cunningly using his Adoration parish to appear bigger and beyond being transferred. This is a blackmail to his superiors…
What’s is wrong that a preist is transferred even when one of the tenets of his calling is that he must go round. Pls lets watch that man. He’s talking too much.

        • Author’s gravatar

Hmmmm,If they move Priest after 2years why did they allow him to stay for 20years? Let us Look inward! Something is wrong somewhere.20years is not 20months,not 20weeks. There is God Oo

          • Author’s gravatar

@Jerry, there’s nothing wrong if Mbaka has not been moved for 20 years instead of normal 2 years duration on each parish. For him to complain of his movement is a big disgrace to him and his calling as a catholic priest. Mbaka did not start his priesthood with CKP and definitely will not retire at CKP. Human beings normally protest whenever change occur in their life or affair especially if it’s not a positive one. But I for one expect Mbaka to reason beyond the ordinary instead of crying foul. If there’s anything like politicization of the church, I think Mbaka himself is the chief architect of it. Let him proceed to Emene and develop the ministry of God there. Mbaka brought himself too low for complaining about his transfer. If Bishops could be transferred, what’s wrong if Mbaka gets transferred??

  • Author’s gravatar

Isn’t he supposed to be a Priest?
Are priests now constrained to a particular parish or branch because they engineered the growth of the parish?
    Help me I don’t understand?
He should pray to God for same grace to abound in him in Emene as it did in CKP so he can further propagate God’s work and help the Church of God worldwide to grow.
Last I checked constantly moving has been the life of clergy..you never get too comfortable because you might be posted to go plant, nurture or design a new vineyard anywhere at anytime.

    • Author’s gravatar

While I agree that all priests are not constrained, its also noteworthy how suspicious it is at this time. After De fulfilments of his prophecy n the visit to state house many said he was going to be transfered and it happened. This shows clear that its not the usual transfer. Politicians and fellows have a hand in it. They played plotted against him. They want sent to where less security is so that they (politicians) will have access to his life. I pray u Lord of all creation, let your strength mount mightily upon your servant that he may become even more powerful than ever. Amen.

      • Author’s gravatar

What security are you talking about? Is it not God provides security? How many security guards did Jesus have? Was Jesus living in a mansion? Why is he crying because he is not going to live in a duplex, rather he is going to live in one room? Why should he even move with the property of his current parish to the new one? All he should have done is to move with his personal clothes.

      • Author’s gravatar

Which security is bigger than the Almighty God security?

        • Author’s gravatar

You forget he is operating in Caesar’s domain now. The reason CHRIST warned, you give to Caesar what is Caesar’s.

          • Author’s gravatar

But the bible says God is everywhere and the Psalmist said in Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of shadow of death I will fear no evil. May be this Mbaka has forgotten the scriptures because of his involvement in personal fame

          • Author’s gravatar

‘…God is everywhere…’ And do not forget also that’s right; sometimes guiding Caesar’s campaigns. What is at stake here is the logistics of delivery in Mbaka’s advocacies relative to his vows and Christ’s holy caveats.

          • Author’s gravatar

His vow is it supposed to be a ministry in ministry? If he’s so sure of his anointing then why is he afraid of be in anywhere?
Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you”.
It’s the absence of God that we notice fear

          • Author’s gravatar

Now listen, God only has the omnipotence to be everywhere. But Mbaka in his anointing is not God, remember. Even the Son of God in his infinite wisdom avoided but preached to the hearings of the governors of the Roman Emperor in what was Israel at the time. If you’ll agree CHRIST never met with Pilate until the day of His earthly judgment, yet Christianity and the rest of the World are still hearing His voices as we blog. How come Mbaka cannot dutifully trace that separation. That’s the bigger question of this debate. He was not afraid for he has spoken eloquently. The beef is the logistics of that eloquence.

          • Author’s gravatar

My brother, see me see Fr. and politics in catholics church. Let them remember the political fr. In Benue and how it ended.

      • Author’s gravatar

Being in a parish for nearly 20 years should be enough, even if he built the parish from scratch. For God’s sake Fr Mbaka is under a diocesan bishop who can transfer him as he deems fit. What’s all this cry about? Could his ‘followers’ remind him of his canonical obedience. We read of trucks carrying his belongings? What? In Roman Catholic Church a priest with trucks to carry his belongings? Unbelievable!
Even APC has taken up his case. What for ?

        • Author’s gravatar

he is an eboe priest…there is something about the eboe man…i…i …i …

          • Author’s gravatar

Nuts! Your apprehension of the ‘eboe’ is approaching satanic levels. Can’t you think about anything else than your ‘eboe’? Think about Nigeria and the nagging separation of State and Religion issues. Do not reply until you think about something new.

          • Author’s gravatar

religion cannot be separated from the state, my child…

          • Author’s gravatar

You got me out of my resolution again. I did not tell you that you can separate the institutions but the issues constant in their operations, skink! Religion is a component of the State but has a unique way of participating in governance. Can that register in your trapezoid head?

          • Author’s gravatar

not if you keep cursing me…

          • Author’s gravatar

Got you! My apologies sir. Your commentaries are snappy and cut wrongly until now.

          • Author’s gravatar

when an eboe man calls you sir…run…he is trying to scam you…

          • Author’s gravatar

Oh oo! Not again. This is the reason you misunderstand the ‘eboe’ man. He is always well-meaning and acts from the heart, @Iskatryman, I repeat sir.

          • Author’s gravatar

            heart?

          • Author’s gravatar

Yes, the heart! He is passionate, true to himself and others, irritated by hypocrisy and always trying to restore order in disorderly environment. In factual and truthful matters, co-operate with him or you are on your own. Take care man. I think we have no more explanations to do; I mean both of us.

      • Author’s gravatar

What manner of security are u deluding? divine security or arm of flesh. Have u forgotten that except the lord watchet the city. It is invain those that watchet it

      • Author’s gravatar

If you understand the catholic church, you will agree that while it allow it members to mix religion with politics, it does not allow its priests to do so, and of course Fr. Mbaka recently toed that line. It wants to ensure that its Shepherds do not get carried away by secular activities as it is with the case of the Priest in Benue State who became governor, may be you remember how he ended up.
This is not punitive rather the church which is the Shepherd of Shepherds is watching of the soul of its own.

    • Author’s gravatar

You are right but in the pulpits and not pontificating on the aisles of political Assemblies. The Church has a peculiar way of registering its disagreements with politics not in brazen dances of discord with the Government.

    • Author’s gravatar

air conditioned priest…forgetting that suffering maketh a man…the fool should drop out of the cassock and come and face real life…

    • Author’s gravatar

His new parish is poorer than the Old GRA parish. So food will be scanty in his new post.

    • Author’s gravatar

I totally agree with you and I don’t see the reason why Fr. Mbaka should be crying wolf. He too is aware of the fact that priests doesn’t stay in a particular parish or diocese longer than he did. And for the fact he has stayed that long should even make him to be always prepare for his transfer at any time.

As a priest, ain’t he suppose to leave those properties behind as they belongs to the church? Just like the late Oliver de coque sang in his music about a tenant who plants flowers in another person’s house, when he is moving, he will leave without the flowers because the house is not his. Just my thoughts though.

He should stop the lamentation and the so called wealth of this world and focus on how to nurture his new vineyard to a growth..

  • Author’s gravatar

mbaka talks like a drug addict he should talk less and obey orders of his superiors simple.

  • Author’s gravatar

My only acceptable prophet, as a man of God you need not lament. You should take whatever comes to you. I am surprised that you are attaching yourself to properties like the lay people. A man of God need not complain. My advise give out all your asset to those who need them, like the prisoners, widows, orphans, police barracks, motherless baby homes. even most of your congregation are very poor

    • Author’s gravatar

Let the truth be said, Tunde u r a shameless hypocrite, who has allowed his sheer hatred for Mbaka and Catholic church to go on Rampage.. I hv not attended Mbaka’s ministry for once but i understand his plight.. Yes he is a man of God needless to complain about any circumstances he found himself but don’t forget he’s still a human being like u and I.. When the passion of Jesus Christ was imminent at Getsamony he cried bitterly telling God that if it be his will let this cup(suffering) pass by him… If Jesus could felt that way who z Mbaka not to feel same?.. Am very sure that non of the pastors in ur Church(Who’s decieving u and extorting money from ur church members to be fending fir their families)would endure any of the conditions guiding Catholic priesthood, not to even talk of running a ministry like that of the so much Revered Reverend Fr Mbaka..

    • Author’s gravatar

@Tunde008: U get it wrong. His words precisely referee to ministry properties not personal. Remember he said he can put any other property even in somebody’s house. But do u expect him to keep all De chalice, speakers, microphones, laptops, communication technologies, altar things, anywhere? Or dash them to the needy? Let’s be fair. If u talk of the needy, do u know how many orphanage his is managing? How many he is training in various schools? How many he feeding on daily basis? How much more the needy. Must they be given church or ministry belongings also? Then with what will he minister these modern days u need these technologies to minister. Is just not OK that he transfer at this time there are political pose against him bcoz of the voice of God through him

    • Author’s gravatar

he is acting like a spoilt brat…

  • Author’s gravatar

We love Mbaka, but the Church loves him more , so much so that against international best practice he was allowed to spend 20 years, instead of two in a parish , which he virtually owned. His safety ? The God whom he serves has always secured and will continue to secure him. This is the time for him to grow in stature and deploy his immense good will, stature and fame to the benefit and enhanced growth and development of the catholic church in Emene. Is he in doubt ?No need to be.Just start building the new parish and prayerground and see the immense contributions that will pour in from an appreciative mass following that you command. Reverend Father Ejike nwa Mbaka, your best is just beginning and by your overdue transfer Christ has chosen you to build his church .

    • Author’s gravatar

Sure agree completely but we must first accept the fact that De transfer at this time is just not the usual one, its politicized n jealously decided

      • Author’s gravatar
      • Author’s gravatar

Yeah,no need to shed tears over spilt milk. His transfer has come now because God wills it . Certainly, Mbaka is not a partisan priest, nor is the church hierarchy so inclined .Attributing the transfer to politicians is to clothe them with the power they cannot muster. Mbaka remains a model and star and sure will glorify God wherever he is privileged to serve Him.

      • Author’s gravatar

A priest that has been in one parish for a decade and when he is been transfered, you call it “politicized n jealously decided”. What are you saying? Priests are bound to be transfered from time to time to parishes and they know that they are not suppose to feel comfortable in one parish. Or are you trying to tell me that Fr. Mbaka is an exception of that? He has suddenly become an untouchable that cannot be moved or transfer to another parish. Even the Archbishops sometimes get transfered. People should stop insinuating what they are not so sure.

Dis is d work of pdpigs…over the prediction of buhari winning the 2015 presidential election.

    • Author’s gravatar

Stop talking rubbish. Transferring of priests is very normal in the Catholic Church. They can even transfer him out of the country. This has nothing to do with PDP. Fr. Mbaka should not be weeping up sentiments. He should understand the system very well for that was what he subscribed to when accepted the ministry

    • Author’s gravatar

U are very right my brother, they have failed.

  • Author’s gravatar

Can’t he create his own churches?

    • Author’s gravatar

God! You the Almighty Pls Have Mercy on all these your Creation that speak, some without understanding, some just to talk and some to encourage the Fr. I will only say that the Fr Mbaka Should Trust in the Lord who called him Proverb 3:5-6.That settles the Matter,God Bless Nigeria and his Church on Earth

  • Author’s gravatar

Mbaka, when will you start preaching salvation of souls instead of messages that bring you fame. Moving from supporting one party to the other is not part of the gospel of Jesus Christ if you don’t know.

    • Author’s gravatar

You’re right. Most churches have left preaching salvation to signs and wonders and prosperity and liberal theology. Most vulnerable people have fallen victims to them. God save us. Watch and pray!

      • Author’s gravatar

Salvation includes many things, read Mark 15:16.

        • Author’s gravatar

What is your take from Mark 15:16? There is no correlation with the issue at stake. Tessa read Matthew 28:20. Has Mbaka be doing whole heartily what he was anointed for in the name of Jesus Christ?

          • Author’s gravatar

            Are you sure?

I am sure I made this comment to someone and not you, it will be relevant to the person I made the comment to.

I’ve re-read it, I was talking to @Okafor who said:

I quote: You’re right. Most churches have left preaching salvation to signs and wonders and prosperity and liberal theology. Most vulnerable people have fallen victims to them. God save us. Watch and pray!

Jesus gave the church its assignment which is the great commision.

          • Author’s gravatar

Tessa, I meant no harm, besides I thought it’s an open platform for cross ventilation of ideas

Signing up as a priest in the Catholic Church is never a tea party & the respected man of God knows that too well. I have a close relative who has until very recently been posted between the rock & the hard place and he has ALWAYS made a success of his calling.
