Man petitions IGP, accuses widow of foisting child on late brother

The family of the late business mogul, Victor Amechi Ekwerekwu of Onitsha, Anambra State, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu accusing the late brother’s wife of foisting a child on his late brother.

The deceased’s elder brother, Charles Ekwerekwu Nwabufo, who claimed that his brother executed power of attorney that he manages his property, accused the deceased mistress, one Ndidi Amaka Stella, of foisting a baby on the deceased as a gateway to inheriting his assets. Nwabufo also alleged that his late brother’s wife who never had any child with him suddenly brought a baby in his dying days to foist on him as his child, saying the intention of the accused was to swindle the deceased of his wealth. The accused was said to have a few hours after the presentation of the child to her dying husband, proceeded to the probate registry to register the child as next-of-kin to her husband.

In the petition through his lawyer Daniels Nanna dated January 3, 2020 titled: “Complaint against Ndidi Amaka Stella for Criminal Conversion and Unlawful Sale of Property Situates at Enugu/Court Road in front of Area Command Onitsha, Anambra State Belonging to late Ekwerekwu Victor with Forged Document”, Charles Ekwerekwu accused the late brother’s wife of fostering a baby on the deceased.

He claimed that his late brother and the accused in their 18 years of marriage did not give birth, wondering where the four month old baby she brought came from.
“Ndidi Amaka Stella goes about with armed civilian security outfit to intimidate and terrorize our clients in a bid to have unrestricted access to the properties belonging to the deceased. While we urge the police to look into the criminal aspect of these transactions, we on our part are already preparing a civil suit to reclaim and retrieve all the proceeds and property she illegally converted.”
