Makinde congratulates Wike, Rivers people on governor’s re-election

The governor-elect of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has congratulated Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on his re-election.

Makinde, in a statement made available to The Guardian by his media aide, Dotun Oyelade, said the victory would have been more excited if the people of the state were not made to go through crises.

“Wike’s victory would have generated more excitement if only the people of the state were not made to go through hell and back.

“Here was an election that was won at the first ballot, but which the powers-that-be delayed deliberately to see if the victory could be truncated.

“We congratulate the long-suffering people of River State for standing up to their conviction to the end,” he said.
