Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has said that litigation by opposition parties forced his administration to appoint sole administrators in all the 21 local councils in the state.

Bagudu stated this yesterday during the swearing-in of another set of 18 sole administrators at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. He said since the issue is before the court, his administration is not willing to go against judicial orders.

He added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has respect for the rule of law, stressing that anything that would tarnish the integrity of the party would be avoided.

Bagudu charged the newly appointed council administrators not to abuse their position, adding that anyone who violates the oath of office would be prosecuted.

He also informed them that President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Kebbi in the areas of food security, fishing and agriculture, stressing that there was the need for the people of the state to work harder in 2017.

In his response, the sole administrator of Yauri local council, Alhaji Musa Muhammed Yauri pledged that they would focus on integrating more youths into farming and work towards uniting everyone in the state to attain peace and development.
